This was a theatrical short, but I figure most people who saw it likely saw it in syndication on TV along with other Terry Toons cartoons.

The place that dreams are made of... literally, in the case of this cartoon from 1950!

I wonder if that giant was recycled from an earlier "Jack and the Beanstalk" cartoon. The way he scoops up the "comic books" when sitting at the table looks a lot like he's playing with a pile of coins.

You can see what parts are used from Mother Goose Nightmare

which doesn't look to be a direct lift from Beanstalk Jack, but you can see the influence. That is in itself a remake of Stringbean Jack, reusing assets such as the giant's castle.

(The dancing mice (and palm trees) are from Mighty Mouse in Krakatoa.)
