It is being widely reported that Marvel Comics (via the Disney/Fox deal) have acquired the comics license to publish Aliens and Predator comics, taking over from long time license holder Dark Horse.

One can only assume there will be a separate imprint ala Star Wars but with the state of Marvel at the moment who knows?  I daresay some bright spark at the house of ideas will hit on the idea to redo X-Men #143 with Kitty facing a genuine Xenomorph.

Of course! The point must be driven home with the biggest sledgehammer available!

Does that mean that Dark Horse is now under Marvel's comic headline? Or is it that Disney said, "We wanna do Aliens and Predator movies. Oh yeah, and while you're getting that, may as well throw the comic rights. Who knows, maybe they can do something with 'em."

On the other hand, Darth Vader and the Alien Queen side by side would be pretty scary. Or "Indiana Jones and the Invisible Stalker"...

I expect Wolverine v the Predator is already on the drawing board.

Plot comes later.

I think we are all ready for a Everything You Know Is Wrong about Alien - And how Ripley was in fact a genocidal racist.

Wow. If Star Wars were Dark Horse's bread and butter, then Aliens and Predator was their water.

Hm. Ripley might actually escape this kind of retcon. She's not an authority figure--far from it--and it seems it is the authority figures (Reed Richards, Charles Xavier, Captain America) who must be torn down.

*********

I’m not necessarily advocating for this, but why would it be seen as a
bad thing? Both the Aliens and Predator properties had crossovers with
characters from different companies. And some were pretty enjoyable.
Why would it be so bad for Marvel characters to crossover with them?

There`s a pretty decent Wolverine v Predator fan made
short on Youtube, and the costume works.

I remember that film. Reasonably well done, tho I did not care for Wolverine's fangs.
