That wolverine figure has a special power - it won't let you get a clear photo of it.

Being Wolverine is no stranger to pain (especially what JB has put him through in Elsewhen alone), hearing him say he's never felt pain like that is quite the scary thought...

My first intro to Wolverine was ANAD X-MEN 103.

Was never much of a fan of him then and still not 43 years later.

For me, his overexposure really over time turned me off.

Anyone else hear William Shatner's voice in their head while reading Wolvie's dialog in panel 3? ;)

Quite the painful thing there.  If it was in colour I'd assume we'd be seeing a red glow or something to indicate the heat (fun thing about b&w is we can all imagine our own colour scheme).  Nice to see Kitty is about to get back into the story.

As to the FF bit I mentioned before, as I said just a fun thing I do in my own head for it.  While I'd love to see it, I'm sure I could come up with 1001 other stories but unless I win the lottery and pay someone to write/draw them I just have to hope someone else has the same vision and puts it to paper/digital.  Sadly my own artistic skills are barely stick figures.  Hrm....who used to put out a comic of just stick figures.... I remember someone used to do that and I'd buy those comics from him at cons in the 90's.  Ah well.

As to Wolverine - my first exposure was a Canadian reprint of his first appearance done by some company that did a few of them (there was a Fantastic Four one and a Spider-man one I think) back in 1974/1975 about (full colour).  Found it recently and cannot find it online anywhere so it is a neat thing to have.

A nice balance between the three action-oriented, vertical panels at the top and the more subtle horizontal panels, showing the aftermath, at the bottom.

Yep! Better get moving Kitty. That last panel on page 8 is spectacular. Destruction by the Dark Phoenix is visually beautiful.

X-Men: "I know. We'll hide underground"
Phoenix: "What underground?"

That last panel is proof alone that we're not dealing with a lazy artist!  There's more detail in that one panel than some artists put in a whole book

John N. - IMO, I wouldn't have expected to see any part of Wolverine glowing except his claws and possibly - possibly - his teeth. But no other part of his skeleton shows, so...

Wallace S. - I see what you did there. :)

So when Kitty is intangible, she's harder to spot by telepaths. Interesting. As memory serves, the White Queen couldn't spot her either; they had to get a visual on her to start chasing her.

When Jean first became Phoenix, it seemed that her power usage was limited, as was her expertise in using those powers. It seemed she got better and more powerful as she "aged" with the Phoenix powers. I wonder if that will apply here. Or, perhaps, I brought something to those stories that wasn't really there.

These are just so much fun! Long may you wave, Mr. Byre!
