Had the opportunity to hear him speak a couple of years ago, and he was genuinely inspirational.

He led a truly remarkable life.
Here's something I didn't know about him I found on Twitter:.

"My favorite thing about John Lewis is that at ComicCon, he cosplayed as his younger self, wearing the same coat and backpack he wore at the March on Selma and led kids in a little march around the convention"

RIP

If you haven’t already, I’d suggest reading his trilogy of graphic novels, March Volumes 1-3. It’s an entirely different experience from just watching a biopic or documentary about that era. Reading about his experiences in the Civil Rights movement and the abuse and beatings he took as one of the Freedom Riders is so much more impactful in his own words and from his point of view.

A hero of mine - a giant in the Civil Rights movement through today's politics.  He will be missed greatly.

Our world is lessened by his passing.

The definition of stamina. John Lewis stood up for human rights and equality knowing full well he may never see the fruits of his labor. He will be sorely missed.

Truly a pioneer.

Hopefully, the Civil Rights leaders of today's movement will not let this moment go to waste. Keep you foot on the pedal!

Rest In Peace/Power Mr. Lewis

Waiting for Marco Rubio’s “they all look the same to me” defense now.

He leaves the world a better place than it would have been without him.

This is how you win at life.
