Canadian shows airing on non-cable channels in the U.S.

The CW has been airing CORONER (a Canadian show based on a British book series, with the setting switched to Canada), and NBC is going to start airing another Canadian show, TRANSPLANT.

Canadian shows (as opposed to American shows filmed in Canada) are usually aired on cable, not network tv.

(CORONER is good, but I swear one actor in it has been a cop in just about everything I've ever seen him in...)

There have been a few Canadian shows that have aired on US broadcast networks, usually in the summer. Off the top of my head, thereís that Erica Durance hospital one that Iím too lazy to look up, and some police procedurals (FLASHPOINT, ROOKIE BLUE).

Yes, the production shutdown in Hollywood has led to some networks getting "fresh" material from other sources. The CW lifted a Canadian show or two and is going to air things like Swamp Thing from the DC streaming service. This is also why CBS has decided to air the first season of Star Trek: Discovery on regular tv. They need to fill the timeslots until production gets back up and running again.

If only new eyes get on SWAMP THING then something positive will come out of COVID.  It's an excellent series cancelled far too quickly that should be in the writer's room for the third season.

I also suspect that CW aired KILLER CAMP, a British show that only had 5 episodes, due to Covid. It was fun, but in the finale the contestants were stupid.
