Here comes Namor (I'm pretty sure it's him)!

Thank you for the double pages!

I'm loving this D'Bari subplot already. What a cool ship. Those folks deserve some justice.

Is that the first time that a D'Bari ship has been seen since Avengers #4?

The Namor connection...

What a cool ship.

••

Jack Kirby's design, of course, from AVENGERS 4. Being me, I did feel the need to create a 3D model so I could keep the details consistent from shot to shot.

Kirby varied the length of the ship, so I went with the somewhat stubby version. Maybe it telescopes!

JB, I don’t think you put enough attention to detail for page 2. /sarcasm off. The doll’s head missing an eye is eerie and satisfying. Big thumbs up!

I should mention, this issue paced out to 19 pages, so with the double-dip today, that means this installment will end on Sept 30th, leaving a 5 day gap until the first Monday in October. (OCTOBER!!!!!!!)

I love how this is starting.

When you mentioned this paced out at 19 pages, it brought to mind a question I've always had about comic book production.

If this book were being printed back in the day, and you found to make the story work you would need 21 pages, instead of 19, would this request for additional pages be easily granted? OR would the editor say, NO, make it work in 19 pages...?

I always wondered how much freedom the creatives had with this sort of thing and if it was granted, how costly a couple of additional pages would be to the overall production budget.

In my day, we had 22 pages. If it worked out to 23, the usual policy would be to do 21 in the next issue.

Own up, who threw that coke can into Jamaica bay!

Really enticing couple of pages to draw us in. Cool reveal of the D'Bari face in the final panel of page 1 -- gives me the kind of feel I would get as a child when watching Doctor Who and an alien creature would appear.

And what an evocative splash page -- I presume it's a certain Atlantean prince investigating the sunless wrack.

'If he could weep, he would'. So sad. He doesn't look human but his misery comes across poignantly.
As usual, great pages!
