I remember reading about this as a kid and daydreaming about what it would be like:

The approach looks pretty cool - considering the vintage, they were on the right track. I assume the mountain is a Fortress of Solitude.
I have never visited Universal's Florida super-hero attractions, but they look light on theme and heavy on thrills. Based on the wonderful "Guardians of Galaxy: Mission Breakout" ride at Disney's California Adventure, they will be taking it to a whole new level when they open their Avengers Campus.
I'm not a fan of the Superman statue at the entrance - too much crotch when you're entering. Theme parks have come such a long way that a modern Superman park would be something else.
Disney's execution appears to be dedicated exclusively to the film universe. The cast of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY appear throughout the entire ride with segments shot specifically for the ride, and it's great. Speaking of statues, this is as you enter the line queue, which is a walk through The Collector's museum:

I’d love to see more details on the superman theme park. Stuff like this fascinates me.
My dream of a Fantastic Four’s Baxter Building® attraction still sits in my mind. Part hotel. Part themed attraction. All I need is about 3 billion...

Neal Adams' concept drawings for the park were published in Limited Collectors' Edition C-31 in 1974, and are viewable here.

Yes! I had forgotten those additional drawings but just had a flood of memories looking at them again. Thanks Jason!

Neal's designs seem to be based entirely on the comicbook version of the time, as if it was that with which the potential audience would be most familiar.

Man, getting serious Tomorrowland vibes from this. (Which of course is only appropriate for the 'Man of Tomorrow!')
Would have loved to seen something like this come to life. So thanks very much for sharing the imagined designs with us. All wistful now..

Those added pictures are wild! It is indeed based on the comic books - how amazing would it have been to see this built when comic books defined the character over TV and film?
I can't help but spitball what I would do to make a Superman park. I agree that Smallville is your entrance - it's a natural for that. I would definitely have a Fortress of Solitude, but it would not have such a large footprint.
In its place, I would instead have a large section devoted to Metropolis, utilizing the large scale, forced perspective design akin to Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Disney's Cars Land.

Tim - Krypton isn't your entrance? With a rocket monorail ride into Smallville?

I was thinking of that, Eric! I don't think Krypton would be a good entrance - it's too jarring from the world you just left. Smallville is more familiar and helps bridge the gap into the rest of the park. It would be a gateway, much like Disney's Main Street. I also think Smallville defines Superman more than Krypton, so maybe my bias is coming through!
I would include Krypton in the Fortress of Solitude section through a ride - this would be the chance to tell Superman's origin or through some bonkers time travel device. Krypton would be great as just a few large rooms/models, but I wouldn't create it on grand scale as an entire section.

I always remembered this from childhood comic reading, and being jealous that none of these were near me:
In Japan, there was the official ULTRMAN LAND theme park in Kyushu (rather small actually), but it closed around 2013 due to Tsuburaya Productions wanting to concentrate more on producing the shows.
