My brother had that tabloid-sized Superman with that virtual tour in it and I poured over those pages many times. We would've bugged our parents into going there eventually I bet! I did finally get to Disney's Tomorrow Land at least (and did the rocket trip and atomic particle shrinker 'rides').

Neal's designs seem to be based entirely on the comicbook version of the time, as if it was that with which the potential audience would be most familiar.

This is from the early '70s. I'm not sure what other version what would've been most familiar at that time. The George Reeves TV series was long gone, and all cartoons with Superman based themselves on the Mort Weisinger-era comics, with the Fortress and Kandor and Krypto, etc.
