No bat flips if he was pitching!

That's 3 Hall of Famer's from the '68 Series that have died in 2020.
Gibson, Brock, Kaline.

I was barely aware of him because my baseball interests really only began in 1975 with the then-good Red Sox and he was by then at the end and played in the national league. But I've seen highlights and his numbers clearly speak to his dominance... 20+ game winner in 5 of 6 seasons in his prime and that era of 1.12 in more than 300 innings pitched in one of them (plus 268 SO vs. only 62 BB) is absurd.

His 1968 season is arguably the greatest single season
for a pitcher ever and is among the greatest single
seasons for any team sport athlete.
