The last panel if issue #16 is impressive. JB, if you ever had a desire to draw a Silver Surfer short story or single issue story please do it. Maybe even a FF Negative Zone story? You don’t even have to tell us or show us! Your space scenes are next level. Use this power for good! ;)

So many spinning plates in the air, and now a wait until December! November is sure to be our darkest month yet!

Some great cliffhangers in this latest issue, and some unresolved threads from earlier ones, makes the anticipation of future issues only sweeter! :-)

Have a great November Mr B - looking forward to December already!

Echo that thought about the last panel - one of the best ever!

When it comes to drawing "outer space" I learned my lesson doing the SILVER SURFER one-shot with Stan. There, I made a deliberate choice to eschew the Kirby Kosmos, and drew more "realistic" space scenes, a la STAR TREK TOS.

The basic response in the mail was BORRRRIIIINNNNNGGGGG!!!!!

So from then on. . . . .

(Except in my drawn STAR TREK books, of course. . . . )

I don't know if we've checked on Lilandra's status since the Phoenix dumped her. Do we know if she's still alive? That will factor into how Gladiator and his friends handle this visit to Earth, methinks.

Leigh: I can't imagine Jean swearing so I'm imagining "Shoot" :)

***

Honestly, I did too-- but the "sh-" bit struck me as appropriate, because you can't truncate "no"... ;)

Was Gladiator holding back when he fought Colossus?

The art was of a consistently high standard throughout this issue. I mean, the art's been good all along, but you did seem to raise the quality even further just a notch with this one.

I enjoyed the pop of the no-background first panel on today's page. You spoil us with some amazingly realised backgrounds, but it's a nice touch to change it up -- gives the eye a little change of look.

From an entirely subjective standpoint, I have never been a fan of the Sh'iar, so not too stoked with their return. Hoping to see more of Nightcrawler in December. For some reason that plot thread and Peter's ailing leg have tickled my curiosity.

That said, an earth-based dust-up with Gladiator is not an unappealing prospect. A month-long wait is certainly going to whet the appetite.
