It would be good if he could turn up, if only for a short spell.

Could Wanda do such a reconstruction?  Or is her power to unwieldy?

Mrs. Grey wants all the weird mutants and robots stuff to stop now. You kids'll have to play somewhere else for awhile.

ITEM: I would not resort to Dr. Strange for such a mundane task as restoring a house. It may occur, but it is so ancillary to the story that I don't expect to ever hear any more of it.

ITEM: Peter M. - You have not been beaten nearly enough. :)

ITEM: Ron G. - Can Dr. Strange provide references? Well, thanks to Sise-Neg, he WAS at the birth of the universe...

ITEM: Elaine Grey. That looks definitely like a breakdown to me. But who would the Greys go to? I don't think John Grey trusts Professor X (not to mention that any appearance of Professor X might cause worse trauma.) Doc Samson? I'm not sure that Mrs. Grey can deal with ANY enhanced individuals, non-mutant variants or not. A "Joe Average" psychiatrist? Now what's the fun in that? In any case, I look forward to seeing  Mr. Byrne handle it. I might not LIKE it - but I anticipate it!

Don't forget that the mighty Phoenix, ravager of worlds, once spent a week working in a circus as a mind-controlled slave to Mesmero! I was joking with a friend of mine last month that that should be the ultimate resolution to the Dark Phoenix storyline... just bring in Mesmero. (Totally j/k, of course.)

I did appreciate in X-Men #136, when the X-Men were clever enough to use a modified version of the psionic scrambler that the Hellfire Club's goons had used against her effectively a few issues earlier.

JB, were the X-Men as well known in the super-powered community
during your first run? I got the impression they were a more secretive
group back then.

On the topic of Jean’s telepathy, in issue 65 it was retconned into something Xavier had “shared” with her while he was in seclusion preparing for the Z’noxx invasion. My question is, in which issue did Jean manifest this ability for the first time? And did any of her teammates take special note of this new power?

(Beware of Chris’ unknowing retcons. Without me to guide him he had Jean manifesting her telepathy when she was 10!)

A few days behind which always makes for better reading - If I was the Grey's at that point I'd be moving anywhere far, far away.  Maybe Arizona or something.  Look for some sanity in life.  The future pages suggest they stuck around though. It would be tough to lose a child then have them come back, lose your home, know it all is because you let your kid go to a 'school for mutants' which you thought was just a good normal school for years.  Boy therapists in Marvel Earth would be busy, busy, busy.

In (Uncanny) "X-Men" #43, Professor Xavier left a video message that the team viewed after his supposed death. In it he mentions that he had been preparing Jean so that she would gain telepathy as he knew he was dying. The team had thought Xavier was being cruel in the time before his death, but upon hearing his message realized it was because he was training Jean and due to the severity of the situation.
