I suppose this was inevitable.  The Royal Navy and Marines experimenting with those Jet flying suits to board ships.

I wonder if the US Navy and Marines are experimenting with this?  We must not allow a Jet-Pack Gap!

No way do I want flying cars.

People can barely drive the things on the ground, give them three
dimensions to be aware off & that will be that.

Sometimes I think that is a conscious factor in the lack of development

Flying cars would likely lead to something like we saw in BACK TO THE FUTURE II, with everything airborne, but still restricted to lanes and off-ramps.

This sounds to me a bit like the animated part of The Rocketeer. Which scared me plenty enough, thank you for asking.
