Probably not the greeting Cyclops expected to receive... :)

SPANK! ME! More FF! We are the lucky readers!

ITEM: Stars, how I love your portrayal of Ben Grimm! What I wouldn't give for Strange Tales to return, with you on a Thing solo strip. With plenty of team ups, provided they weren't forced or unnatural (e.g., the Thing and the Man-Thing. That just didn't work for me.)

ITEM: If I just looked at that "Invisible Girl" and "Mr. Fantastic", from their expressions, I would know they weren't the real deal. Obviously that's the intent... but those are SO nice!

ITEM: Loving how the X-Men look! It may sound odd... but I really miss Cyclops as he looked and as he was. Arguably, Cyclops was the second best team leader in the MU; loaded with skills and talents and strategic training - oh yeah, and a devastating super power too. But they had to muck with him entirely. To me, that started when he fell for a red headed woman who might have looked like Jean; we have only Scott's word for it, as the art was so vague in detail that it looked like any woman with a hairdo that we never saw Jean wear. Silly detail - I never liked Cyclops' outfit in X-Factor. The colors were kinda silly, and especially so with the aqua and white outfit. That should have been Iceman's.

This is just a holdover? It makes it easier to wait for the return. Thank you!

Yeah those expressions are so unlike the normal Sue and Reed... and are perfect for those nasty skulls.  A good page that reminds me how well JB knows the characters.

While I love seeing the FF being drawn again by you, JB, I have to say I think I'm glad that you cut this subplot out. Great to see you touching base with most of the "Marvel" universe, but I'm ready to dive deep into X-Men time.

And can I just say how much I LOVE the coloring on that FF cover! What happened to that kind of quality??

Great body language for the various characters on this latest page. Imposter Sue's face looks great as well. Suitably devious.

"Wasn’t the Masters name a retcon?"

It wasn't used in FF #8. If I had the next two Puppet Master appearances, FF#14 and Strange Tales #116, I'd check them, but definitely something added after their first appearance.

Seeing Kitty in stone gives me a flashback to an old Tom & Jerry comic I had where two mice seem to have turned into statues, but it turned out they had carved exact likenesses of themselves out of bars of soap. Characters turning into statues or similar (Black Knight) could be a sub category of fan interest on a website for all I know with fans avidly seeking out every instance, if so they would be very happy with this and recent Elsewhen pages. :^)

It looks like Kitty intentionally took a shot meant for Wolverine.

"Wasn’t the Masters name a retcon?"

Yes it was. One reader got a letter published in FF #39 asking about Alicia's last name. Stan (or whoever handled the letter column at the time) admitted they hadn't thought of one, and asked for suggestions.

The winning entry, which received a no-prize, was published in #42 and referenced the Puppet Master as basis for the choice of name.

The first in-story use of the name was in #49 I believe, as the Silver Surfer crashes into Alicia's apartment.
