The past four years have been way beyond ‘agreeing to disagree’. Or he’s not my president because I didn’t vote for him.
I didn’t vote for Boris Johnson, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt over Covid @ the start. I dispose him as a person with the way he acts, lies etc.
Trump was another level. I had many argue that I should respect his position as president. All well & good. But what if he doesn’t respect that position, or the truth, or law? @ what point do these factors become relevant?
Trump bought the animosity upon himself when he decided to run for the Presidency based on toxicity, lies, name calling, insulting his opponents. That’s what he said was acceptable behaviour. Because that’s what he modelled - & that gives permission to others. His actions since losing the election show no change in any of this.
I fear for just how much of a scorched earth policy he will enact before 20th January.

Well-said, James. Nobody voted for Trump because they thought he was a skilled communicator, creative problem solver, brilliant intellect, or selfless humanitarian.
They voted for him because he HATED the same people they did.
Any step towards unity must include the GOP admitting that the behavior of the current administration these past four years has been divisive & reckless. Willingness to be bipartisan is crucial.

Fox News even shut down his press secretary when she started bringing up voter fraud and other conspiracy garbage.
Michael Cohen said that Trump will never concede or appear at Biden's inauguration. I think that's pretty much a given. I just hope that all the information that a President is supposed to pass on to his successor is written down somewhere.

Ha! Like Trump writes stuff down.
The Trump WH will leave absolutely NOTHING for Biden. They’ll just let him try to figure everything out on his own. Anyone that thinks Trump will help Biden with anything at all is just deluding themselves.

Bingo. An now he’s turned that into a National Cause and you don’t love America if you feel differently than they do.

Brian Miller that's why I said I hope that information is written - obviously, by someone else - down somewhere. Trump doesn't help anyone but himself. If he had won a second term, it wouldn't matter who followed him. He still wouldn't give them that information.

About Biden and his team having to figure out things on his own, luckily, Biden has had some experience with having helped run the country in the past.

I'm sure he has Obama's phone number on speed dial.
And there's nothing wrong with that, but you just know the conservative nutjobs will argue that's a reason he's too mentally incapable to be President.

The world should just stop dealing with Trump & start dealing with Biden forthwith. Make Trump irrelevant. Don’t negotiate, don’t discuss. Just ignore.
He’s not going to attend that inauguration, & if by some miracle he did, I bet his speech would be an attack. Because that’s who he is. He cannot & will not put the greater good before his ego.
His ego is king, & it matters not one job who or what gets destroyed in pursuit of that ego.

Legally, they can’t start dealing with Biden yet. They can, however, just ignore Trump totally for the next couple of months.

Evidently, Emily Murphy, the Administrator of the General Services Administration is responsible for Trump's end of the transition. Just look her up to see how things are going with the transition.
Lately, I can't help but imagine if Trump had handled the pandemic with any level of efficacy. If that one event was handled with solid leadership there is no candidate that could have beat him. But he was incapable of even seeing how instrumental that one hurdle was for his own self interest. Let's face it, if he had handled the pandemic better he would be re-elected. He had the chance to change his fate and was too narcissistic to take advantage of it.

I just don't trust not soon enough to be former President Trump - I want them to call Georgia for Biden for that extra little bit of electoral comfort.
