Just saw this, myself.

I don't watch JEOPARDY as much as I used to, but he was a class act
all the way.

Seems almost surreal he and Connery died a week apart.

We watch this almost nightly. The man was 80 and had pancreatic cancer.

I never met him, but he seemed to be really nice, really funny, and really classy. He did his job GREAT, and more often than not, I inferred that he didn't need the answers for the questions; he already knew him.

The answer is: Totally irreplaceable.

Canada was proud to have shared him with the U.S.! He got early training for Jeopardy on Canadian schools quiz program Reach For The Top as well as hosting many other shows.

As with Geoffrey Palmer, a familiar face for so long. Sad news. :^(

Sad to hear. As well as hosting "Jeopardy" he also played himself on a hilarious episode of "Cheers" in the 80's.

I can't imagine someone else hosting Jeopardy.

Thank you Mr. Trebek.

He turned a game show into an institution.

I met him on my 22nd birthday that was his 48th we shared the date.

I will miss him. I think my 88 year old mother may miss more than she misses my father.

Sorry to hear.

Taped his last episode of Jeopardy less than 2 weeks ago.

I remember at first I didn't like him as host. That quickly changed.  That will probably be true of the next host. Big shoes to fill. A friend of mine was in the Teen Tournament once, and in the audience last year.

Perhaps the best game show host ever, and a nice guy.

I was really saddened to hear this news. Big fan of both Jeopardy and Alex Trebek. He was a class act.

Whoever they get to take over will be doing just that: taking over. There's  no replacing Alex Trebek.

Apparently his last episode airs on Christmas.
