Whoa!! Awesome gift today for the New Year! I've always thought gladiator was a cool character and your version is so impressive. Love it. Mr Bryne, in your spare time can you also add an Imperial Guard comic to your endeavors! :-)
Looking forward to 2021 even more now.

Imperial Guard comic? Think that would get me past my loathing of the Legion?

Incidentally, to add to my quota of grumpiness with which to end the year, I found yet another website posting pirated ELSEWHEN pages, this time announcing they were “free”—thus implying there is a charge for viewing them here.

Geez, guys! If you want to pass yourselves off as heroes, at least have the courtesy not to do it at my expense!

Awesome two page gift drop!  I may not care for Gladiator personally, but there is no doubt JB is a master in rendering him.  That face is absolutely perfect!

Narratively there needs to be a fight, but surely if Gladiator stopped to think about it he would realize that if Jean *were* still dark phoenix there is no way they could have captured her so easily.

Jean does look lovely (especially in that first panel) -gosh its great to have JB drawing her again...

Are the "alternate" team called the M-men (for Magneto) I wonder?

Thanks, John, for a island of goodness in a sea of awful that is/was 2020 and I wish you (and all posters) a hopefully better new year.

Those pages - so beautifully drawn and epic! It takes me back to the glory days of Marvel. I hope I don't wake up to find that this is all just a dream.

It takes me back to the glory days of Marvel.

-----------------------------

My sentiments also, Paul - it really is a privilege to see such masterful talent applied so well, and what's more with creative insight alongside ; as has already been said by others, Elsewhen has been a real highlight throughout 2020.

I've been thinking of late that - for me - the series has been key to a wide-scale 'rehabilitation' of the X-Men in my mind. Having enjoyed the 'all-new' run from around late 1975, I began to lose interest in the X-books somewhere around the mid-1980's ( probably the Mutant Massacre or thereabouts ), and really came to dislike not only the overblown direction the stories increasingly took, but even the heroes themselves in the end.

Elsewhen though has firmly reminded me that these are great, entertaining characters when they're handled well and with respect, and they've proved a pleasure to be around - it's like being welcomed back into the company of a bunch of dear friends that I've not seen in far too long a time.

JB -  sincere thanks for all of the enjoyment you've given us with Elsewhen during 2020, and Happy New Year to you - and all fellow JBF members.

Jean is just beautiful. I don't know how he does it. All of the art is on another level, but JB's Ms. Grey is just plain stunning.

The prospect of a new vs. old mutants tango in the next issue (with a great title), makes me wonder if I am dreaming. Seriously. Last time we saw this was issue 100 (which turned out to be dopplegangers).

Mr. Bryne, thank you for the joy you bring.

Mr. Byrne, one of the things that brought me happiness in 2020 was starting my day with one of your X-men pages and following your stories throughout the year. It brought back fond memories of my childhood and gave comics suspense again. There was nothing that could spoil what was ahead because no one could see into YOUR head. That was refreshing.

Thank you and Happy New Year.
