Mr. Byrne, I did what I could. I posted on your behalf:

"JOHN BYRNE IS NOT A MEMBER OF FACEBOOK AND THIS IS NOT APPROVED BY HIM. PLEASE TAKE IT DOWN."

I am hoping I haven't overstepped my boundaries as a companion of the JBF.

I'm another Facebook (and twitter) hold out. Until the government starts requiring people to sign up to receive info and services anyway.I don't understand what thinking is behind supposedly 'honoring' someone with accounts entirely on them when they do not want it, and I've seen there are even ones for long deceased people too who can't give permission.

So, websites selling your info to who knows who, and distributing questionable 'information', along with those tolerating or even liking violent rhetoric and hate... just not for me. Lies definitely do not get equal time with truth in my world. Small tastes of it probably can't compare with what public figures deal with. Total wrong turn (insert replay of Shatner's comdeic 'get a life' outburst here).

I've seen some image hosting places have tried to claim ownership of some things posted/published on 'their' platform... hope nobody tries that with X-Men: Elsewhen!

Same guy used to have a Twitter account I followed when I still had Twitter. He always made it clear it was a fan account. And if my memory was correct he would link here as the real place to talk to JB.

The John Byrne Writes guy really came across as sad. Unfortunately, some of the comic book sites made him seem like he was some sort of expert.

Many who write about me (and others), even if the reviews are putatively positive, tend to suffer from a common mistake: if they don't KNOW, they GUESS. So much mind reading. So much profession of knowledge of behind the scenes activity. (Origin of my "Where was your office at Marvel?" query.)

I do so very much wish that people would fact check and/or ASK.

Somebody credentialed who lived it versus a bunch of words on a screen or page? Well, of course you always go with any kind of text, especially if the author is unknown (or Vlad Putin). You know all about the big virus hoax, and how the vaccines are made from fetuses, which Stan Lee, Hilary and Dem judges masterminded right? :^/

I don't know if they will take it down. I
personally know that Alan Davis asked that the page
using his name be taken down, and nothing came of
it. It too says it is not Alan when you check out
the information, but most people assume it is him.

If John Byrne or Alan Davis doesn't want a facebook account in their name you'd think that would mean something. Then again, is it sort of a 'thing' for say Norman Rockwell or Charles Schultz to have an account? My BF had one under his stage name as a musician/singer and they closed it even when he volunteered to provide them his legal name and residence. I wonder if they did this to Lady Gaga or Eminem? I really barely have looked at things on it when sent there, it always wants you to register when you just look, so didn't seem terribly friendly to me.
