My wife, mother, and mother in law have all had a first dose.  They just report sore arms.

For the record, I'm over 50 and haven't been able to get the first dose.  

And, quite frankly, I don't care. Not directed to anyone here in this thread, so please don't feel like you have to defend getting a lifesaving vaccine, but it's not my business to meddle in your business about how or why you got a vaccine shot.  I'm just happy that you did.  

Can I feel a little envious?  Sure.  But what I've seen posted on social media as replies to people who are enthusiastic to have gotten their first or second shot is, quite frankly, mind-blowing.  I've read countless posts calling people out who, on the surface, seem to be unqualified simply because of their age only to eventually discover that a particular person qualifies by a health condition that they should never have been forced to share.  

I just don't get why we, as a community, can't accept that there's no understanding every intimate detail of someone's personal life and just celebrate that they are now ostensibly safe.  As much as I want to be inoculated, there are certainly large groups of people who need to be inoculated before I am and I'm cool with that.

Is that really so hard?  

But at at the end of the day....OK.  What can you do?

Every shot in an arm is that much closer to herd immunity.  

Are there fucks that game the system to get ahead of those more needy?  

Sure.  Happens all the time.  In every situation possibly imaginable. 

But my focus, my real focus, is on people who honestly deserve to get the vaccine based on factors not associated with age.  And who then become shamed because of it.  

That's absolutely absurd, but it's happening all the time.
