I like the way Kitty is clinging onto Peter while simultaneously phasing through his seat.  It must be a challenge to show the urgency of the situation on a page, but JB does it well here.

Very interesting!

JB, forgive me if this question has been asked and answered before, but is the Mansion modeled on a specific real-world building?

••

That I do not know. Like Avengers Mansion, the X-Mansion had many shapes over the years, and it wasn't really until OHOTMU that it settled on one. That's the one I had been using.

(Unlike Avengers Mansion, the X-House rarely strayed into areas that made me wish the artists--in those pre-internet days--would pick up a copy of ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST or some equivalent. Come on, guys! Even Kirby used reference for some stuff!)

The movies, and the comics since, have gone right off the rails, of course.

Holy molly ! I didn't believed what others found obvious
(that our X-Men where in another dimension-bound) until
today's page. What a great development, Master ! This
run is amazing !!!!
Glad to see Xavier's mansion back !!!

Looks like this mansion has been abandoned for some time.  Looking forward to seeing where this is going...

Definitely has a Twilight Zone vibe to it.

Love the sparseness of panels 1 and 3. Conveys going through an interdimensional portal in simple black and white. Who needs color?!

BTW - Happy Birthday!

Thanks, Herman—but there’s already a birthday thread and, as in years gone by, I prefer to discourage the felicitations from bleeding into other threads.

[RoboCop] Thank you for your cooperation.

That mansion never having become their 'school' would seem quite spooky to them perhaps?
