I was at work already. My boss stuck his head in my cube to say hello, and asked if I’d heard a plane had hit the WTC. The guy in the next cube was from New York, and he hadn’t heard it either. He and I walked to the break room with a TV, and within a few minutes the second plane hit. As we cursed and screamed, the break room suddenly filled with everybody in the building. After some time some mid-level boss came in and said we should get back to work. I answered to the effect that this wasn’t just some accident, this was an attack. A few seconds later the first tower collapsed. Needless to say, not much work got done that day.
