I've never been a fan of the character, but art like this would make me pick up the title every month.  One of the best drawings of the Hulk I've ever seen, right up there with the Marvel/DC and Hulk/Foes commissions.

Incredible.  The Hulk really looks like a monster here.  I think the tufts of hair on his forearms and chest are a nice touch.

Love the near forearm!

The use of contrasting heavy blacks is wonderful.

Excellent inking yet again.

Just noticed Hulk is trampling on JB'S signature, nice touch.

He's ready to charge right out of the screen and hit me! I wonder if I can manage one of the Doc Sampson punches right about now!

*****

This may be one of the "fastest" drawings I've ever done. Not in terms of how long the piece took from start to finish -- that was about average -- but in the way I kept my brush dancing and darting all over the page to keep the "savagery" at as high a level as I could. With the exception of the eyes, which were done with pen and were the first ink on the page (after my signature), I don't think there are more than a dozen lines in the whole thing that were completed in a single pass. It was all sort of jab jab jab.

Worked pretty well, if I do say so myself!

Did the commissioner specify that this was to be a Savage Hulk?
