Hey the guys flipping through the comic boxes don’t have grey hair like the guys they use in today’s convention b roll.
Shooter would have made for a good mobster in B movie.
I too am surprised that the FF cover is being colored... I didn’t think collectors were having their art painted during that stage of the hobby.
Fun to see JB and Roger Stern!

I have such fond memories of going to Mid-Ohio Con at the Richland County Fairgrounds. It was the early or mid-1980s when I first went and met my favorite writer and artist: JB. He was great -- gracious and engaging. When I asked him about how he was going to approach working on the Hulk, as part of his answer he directed me to a pocketbook collection of the original Hulk stories that he saw a vendor was selling at the show. Guy gave me a discount when I told him JB had sent me to his table for the book. One year (1986?) I go to find my dad and tell him about my good deal, and my non-comics-reader dad is sitting at a table in the coffee/lunch area talking to a guy . . . who turns out to be Frank Miller. Who signs my Daredevil 168. And am I conflating years, or did JB and Miller collaborate on a Superman/Batman piece that was auctioned off for charity that year? JB, do you remember working on such a piece? (JB even served as auctioneer multiple years if my memory is right.) A great time when cons were for comic fans and full of kids finding comics and meeting pros. The show was promoted by a guy named Roger Price, who raised money for charity.

Well, you can call it a gimmick, but each and every one of those 6 million copies is now a rare and valuable collector's item :)
Roger Stern looks so young in this video. And managed to keep a straight face when saying they weren't going to spring him back next week (no, but what about a few months down the line...)
JB's comments were the most sensible.
