I wish Marvel had found a way to have both versions of the Beast around - the big, acrobatic guy who spoke with big words, and the "wild and crazy" furry guy.
The "Beauty and the Beast" knock-off need not apply.
Someone on this board before said JB and Perez draw furry Beat best, and I agree whole-heartedly.

"If it's the Avengers, you've GOT to have the Wasp."
Should have told her that before she left the group back in issue #16!

JB, you need to stop!!!!
These commissions are certainly killing me...why can't we have JB drawing an Avengers book, dammit?
WHY?
Between these and the recent "X-Men In Danger Room" one, I am baffled and mortified that anyone wouldn't want Byrne in a Marvel team book.
Imagine how kickass a New Avengers arc would be drawn by Byrne.
I was actually reading a reprint of X-men # 1 today, and it amazes me how more and more I keep believing that John Byrne is Kirby's total peer, talent-wise.
I know, I know...some of you might say "WTF, even staunch Byrne Victims would disagree", but besides Kirby, what other artist could have become so synonimous with FF and X-Men, so thoroughly a part of those teams' comic history ? Seriously...it's painful to realize how much I have missed Byrne in a Marvel comic...Dammit...

You could probably always contrive something- reveal that furry Beast is from an alternate universe or something. It'd probably be more trouble than it's worth, but it could be done.

Good god, yes.

JB is certainly carrying on where Kirby and other classic Marvel
artists left off. Many other comic artists currently at Marvel seem
to be incorporating sources that have little or nothing to do with Marvel
or even comic books in general.

Gregg, if I had my way the furry Beast just would have been a new creation back in those Avengers days. That way there would be no territory issues with that version of the Beast in Avengers.

I think August has been the best month on commisions. Every piece I saw was not just strong, but outstanding. Even with my nitpicking eye I could not find anything. Fantastic.

Every time I see a JB-drawn Iron Man, it always makes me regret JB never
drew the Iron Man book (although teaming with JRjr was one of my dream
creative teams). There's just something so "right" about a JB Iron Man!

Definitely would've been the smartest and most respectful thing in retrospect. I guess the general thinking was "The X-Men are dead and the book didn't succeed anyway, so who cares what we do with the Beast?"

**********
She and Hank Pym were the first to return from # 16's "changing of the guard".
Every member has left the group at one time or another. Most of the time, she has been present though.

When I first starting reading Avengers as a kid, I initially thought the furry Beast was: "The Black Panther"
