Vision lacks any shading, as it should be when he is
intangible.

You can tell Byrne rushed this one. He didn't even
put shading on the Vision.

I was actually reading a reprint of X-men # 1 today, and it amazes me how more and more I keep believing that John Byrne is Kirby's total peer, talent-wise.**** I easily surpass Kirby in the pure drawing department --- what I lack is the sheer scope of his imagination.

Thanks for the answer, Ian.

Agreed! But only if it is the classic red-and-gold armor. The current suit is terrible, and even JR jr. couldn't make it look good in the latest issue of The Eternals. Ugh!

Great pic of a classic Avengers line-up in action, JB.
This gets me thinking: is Nefaria on the short list of toughest enemies faced by the Avengers? (IMHO, yes)
Corollary: who is the single most powerful enemy the team has battled?

Awesome pic JB... I've always loved your take on the Avengers... Thor in particular.

I agree -- I always consider Nefaria to be one of the Avengers' toughest foes. I would also rank Graviton up there, too (and I still vividly remember Avengers # 158 where he first appeared) -- he seemed to me like he could turn out to be one of THE big-time villains. I mean, heck, Magneto only controlled magnetism -- Graviton controlled gravity.

That's a tough one -- Michael Korvac, Nefaria, Graviton, and Ultron all come to mind, but it's tough to say which would qualify as the #1 threat for the Avengers. Given that Korvac was basically a god, I'd narrow it down to Ultron and Nefaria (Graviton seemed to have something of a "glass jaw" compared to Ultron and Nefaria, IIRC), and I think that Ultron and Nefaria have been responsible for the biggest battles that the Avengers have had to face.
Are there any others?
