When I started doing these things, I realized immediately that unless I 'discouraged' them, people would likely ask for nothing but Wolverine! This way, people can still get X-Men stuff, but they have to really want it."

Would this mean that asking for characters you've never or very rarely have drawn could mean a nice discount then, JB?
Not that my finances are anywhere near submitting a request in the foreseeable future... but if I ever do get around to it, I'd most likely aim for characters I haven't seen you draw before (or very rarely). Just because I like seeing you give new things that nice looking JB touch.

You mean drawing characters I have not committed to memory? Think about that one.

I'm done with insults, my friend. Just trying to be playful.

That's a play on words, not a pun.

Got me there. I'm one of those people who tend to think of the two as one
thing.

I have. And consider the stupid question retracted. ;)
To place a better and related question, however, do you enjoy getting commissions for characters you've never or rarely done? As a means of pushing yourself, that is...

Well a pun is specific type of play on words, unless I'm misunderstanding my dictionary enormously, JM. But the spcificity of it, of course, doesn't mean that all plays on words are puns...

I too enjoyed the word play though.
