A truly neat commission.  I wish I'd thought of it!

BRAVO, JB.

To be fair, I believe Jim Lee's entire run on Batman was on time (I think his Superman got a week or so off schedule at the end..whoops).  He was given a LOT of time to get ahead before the arc came out.  Gee, what a novel idea.

<<JB: The commission was for Batman & Robin, along with the four villains, on a rooftop, lightning in the sky, Batman and Ra's fighting with swords. >>

Every time I have thought about getting in line for a commission, I've tried to figure out what I would want to have drawn.  I keep coming up blank as there are too many characters that JB touched that would be perfect for a commission.  I can't even imagine coming up with something as detailed as what this request called for.

And, of course, this is a beautiful piece of art.

Glen

I know what you mean.  As soon as I think I am settled on one commission, I get an idea for another, usually because JB posts something so incredible that I want it as well.  It is a hard decision, but I have yet to be disapointed.  Love al of my JB pieces, and so does my wife.

JB,

Do you ever get ideas for a story or a backstory related to what's portrayed in a comission like this one?

I think the people complaining here are mostly referring to All-Star Batman and Robin that's became the starting point for the 22 pages a year thread.

The recent Bat-related commission got me checking out the gallery for other Byrne Batman commissions.  This remains my favorite.  Just an incredible work of art.

Four and a half years later and this one is still near the very top of all-time great JB commissions!
