I always liked Swarm, mainly due to the design. I knew of the character before the cartoon "Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends," but that is where most people seem to have first seen Swarm. Because of that cartoon, everytime I think of Swarm, I can hear the "Swwaaaarrrm , Swwaaaarrrm, Swwaaaarrrm" mantra from the show.
Great-looking piece!

Oh wow. I love it. Swarm always freaked me out. This is
easily my favorite of Clint's collection.

Wow! How did you draw the bees?

Hmmm... before I simply tell you, any of our resident artists (or others
who are so inclined) care to take a guess?
************************************************************ **********
Uh, he drew a billion individual bees. Duh.

Clint,
While all of your commissions are very, very nice, this one in my humble opinion is the best so far - a classic Byrne character with a great city background and incredible "bee" effect. A gem from completely out of left field! Awesome!

I'm swinging at an easy one here, but I sure hope that JB didn't consider each
bee as an individual figure for pricing purposes!
Anyway, it's gorgeous. I wish I could find a better word for it, but I'm feeling
kinda dumbstruck by this piece at the moment.

Mask off the outline, used a sponge for the swarm, then use pen for adding a bit of refined texture. Maybe?
••
No "maybe" about it! That's exactly right.

Yayyyy.
Now if only I can figure out how you draw everything else I'd be in pretty good shape.

From the title, I thought this might be The Fly. I was scratching my head thinking "who would want a commission of that?"
The Swarm is much better. This piece looks great. I love the people in the background covered by the little buggers.

Every so often a commission really stands out -- and this is just such a one. Amazing swarm-texture. Surprising that such an unusual/unexpected choice of subject has resulted in such an outstanding piece of art. Nice one!

This one is truly buzzworthy! All kidding aside, I think it's
my favorite piece this year.
Excellent choice, Clint!
