You could probably guess the whole plot of the story off of this one!  I'm thinking it could involve time travel, if Doom's appearing as he is during a WWII setting.

I wonder how long would it take for Doom to show his "true colors" and inadvertently put an end to his "camaraderie" with the Invaders.

Wow! Those smooth, lush ink lines remind me of my second-favorite inking period of yours - late 90's circa later WW and JKFW issues. I believe those were inked with a brush - is this brush as well?

The heavy blacks in the bottom half of the background are brush, but the rest is entirely the XS PITT pen.
