I mean, I'm certainly not one to dissuade John Byrne from doing John Byrne things, but I cannot imagine how a comic book built around fighting nazis could avoid controversy today.

Today we apologize for everything. MAD magazine parodied the effect in the Sixties, predicting future movies showing Harry Truman apologizing to Hirohito because exploding US warships gave headaches to Japanese pilots at Pearl Harbor.

The first time it was suggested that Hitler could have been rehabilitated I knew we were in trouble.

Man, just remarkable how there's so much going on and everything looks so coherent. I kind of laugh because I imagine after that's penciled JB looks at it and goes, 'Damn! Now I have to ink this!?'

What a great piece of work. I have always been been attracted to heroes battling the enemies during WWII. JB does it right and makes me want a similar commission.
