John Mansfield is a name that rings some bell... I wonder if that could be who was showing one of the rare orange covered Death's Head Knight/ACA Comix book in Victoria once circa the early '80s. I do remember John Newberry, Phil Robie, Wes Vogler, Rod & Janice Lyle, Ron Lightburn and some others who were shop owners or names back around when I discovered specialist shops.
"Are there still fanzines (?)"
There are some slick semi-pro ones that are as much labors of love as any kind of full-time job, contributors being unpaid other than copies... I have seen some Doctor Who ones though that are mostly b&w... Panic Moon and Plaything Of Sutekh are the only two I have any issues of.

Thanks Robbie, Linda Thorson was a name I was searching for as I knew that face but maybe not the name. I never have seen a Department S, only one of the later Jason King solo show, the box sets on it always seem a bit too pricey when I have looked. I have snagged sets of such shows as Doom Watch, The Strange Report, The Champions, Catweazel, Adam Adamant and even A For Andromeda. The BF has all the Avengers with Honor Blackman, plus UFO and Space:1999 on U.S. DVDs. Of course I have all the puppet ones which he can't stand. :^)
There was a great semi-pro magazine titled Time Screen out of England that has never been topped for depth; it had info even on shows that had their videotapes wiped, or even a few SF/F shows that were never taped or filmed. You can find the back issues reasonably enough usually.

I remember Time Screen very well. Any magazine that had Andrew Pixley contributing to it was off to a great start.

Just watched for the first time A touch of brimstone. Old fashioned, but I can see the inspiration, thanks & RIP Emma Peel.

I can make out the word “British” in the cover design, but that’s it.

Your eyes must be better than mine! It’s the one word I can’t really convince myself is there!

I think it says "THE BRITISH ARE COME" which, I assume, is a play on "The British are coming"?

I had something of a rep back then for designing unreadable logos. Still, somehow I was "in demand"!That wasn’t my title, btw. Just my “design”.
