Perfect. I couldn't imagine any other superhero sitting there instead.

Brilliant.
And it makes so much sense for Ben to take out his godchild for a soda. Kind of reminds be of that Lee/Kirby issue where the FF are kicking back playing a game of baseball.
Probably just me but those transparent shadows under the counter is something I haven't noticed JB do before either.

I know they are superhero books, but for me, the quiet moments always stood out. Glad to see that someone asked JB to capture one of those moments.

This makes me very curious to know exactly what the commissioner
requested. Was the homage the commissioners idea or did he/she simply
ask for a Ben/Franklin* scene and JB took it from there?
Whoa! Ben Franklin! JB, maybe the commissioner meant they wanted
something more...colonial?

Dammit, I wish I'd thought of this!
The linework and design of the soda shop is great- it's still definitely
50s/60s-flavored, but it feels to me like more of a Kirby 50s than a
Rockwell 50s. (as it should)

Cool, huh. So many possibilities... Nick Fury in a barber's chair, The Defenders sitting down for a turkey dinner, etc
