Is the building in the background inked or in pencil?
***
Inked. Just used a thin nib.

I reread XM:HY the other day, and notcied again how much the Blob has changed over the years. I think I prefer the "solid" Blob more than the "jellobese" one.

Most nice, JB. I don't know what it is but I'm feeling an extra crackle from your inks on these latest commissions. Just awesome.

...is this one of the larger comissions you've done? *** Not counting the wall of a hospital waiting room Gary Cody and I did when we were still in College, yes. I have done only three of these 30x40 jobs, so far.

JB: Not counting the wall of a hospital waiting room Gary Cody and I did when we were still in College...
Three years ago when my mom was in the hospital for open heart surgery, there was a guy there painting an entire wall of the waiting room. During those long, long hours of waiting between visits with my mom during recovery, I'd sometimes just sit in the waiting room and watch this guy work. Amazing to think of the size.

Anyone who was following this thread based on the "Days of Future Past"
commission should check out the gallery, where the part one cover is now
up.
And it looks awesome!

Amazing!
John Byrne's Storm is still my favorite rendition of the African goddess.

This reminds me what a dream it would be to have a Storm mini by JB. It pains me to see all the crappy "Ororo:Behind The Music" , "Ororo and Black Panther Love Each Other:Cuz Nobody Demanded It" and "Storm:The Blushing Bride" minis that Marvel keeps publishing, instead of a solo book that showcases not only Storm's majestic, regal history and how it affects her present, but a book that features Storm, the kickass superhero that she is.
And the frosting on the cake? Having JB somehow put her back in her gloriously simple original costume...

As always, the X-Men are alive and well -but only in Byrneland.
Such a happy place!
