JB, when you draw GR, does he have flesh in his body and the flaming skull, or do you picture him as a leather-clad skeleton?

Almost! A few years back, Mike and his wife Christine were house hunting, and looked at a tiny place down the road from Stately Byrne Manor. What caught his eye was that the back yard looked out on a 200+ year old cemetary. I went to look at the place with him, and noticed that the headstones on the other side of the stone wall that marked the edge of the property were only about three feet away -- facing the wall!

That meant that the feet of the dozen or so bodies that lay below were on what would be Mignola's side of the wall!

He didn't buy that house, as it turned out. Knowing him, I'll bet that wasn't the reason!

The light, shadow and textures are brilliant, especially on the motorcycle. Very evocative of the glow from an intense heat.

This one also played an interesting trick on the eyes. My eyes first focused on Ghost Rider; then Mephisto (?) on the hill; then Doctor Strange.

Then I noticed the people...

That's a funny Mignola story. As many tombstones as he has drawn...I can't
imagine it wouldn't be any different than any of us who move closer to work
to avoid the commute.

Didn't he end up settling in Portland? For some reason I thought he lived
around my area, or maybe he did at one time.

This one belongs in one of those 70s black and white mags...my favorite comic format of all time.
