Wasn't it also the future from which the adult Franklin returned in the whole four Annuals (X-Men, FF, New Mutants, X-Factor) extravaganza "Days of Future Present"?

Looking back at this one, I'm struck by Franklin's resemblance to Reed, while still being distinct enough to not mistake the two for one another. That has to be a pretty fine line for an artist to walk and it is pulled off beautifully here.

Jim, what has always struck me about this is how Ben looks older just from the eyes. 

15 years later, and I still call this piece the gem of my collection.
