"...sometimes feared..."!

Inevitable with any empire? Foreshadowing? Fun!

NOT mine!!

(Does anybody recall when this name was first used? It has the stink of OHOTMU on it, but it could have been Chris being "clever".)

With the holiday weekend, I wasn’t expecting this today. A nice surprise! I love this subplot. It’s mysterious and grave feeling, and I feel it’s going to intersect with Jean Grey’s storyline.

Also, love the look and feel of the architecture.

I'm thinking "WIDEAWAKE" might have dual meanings this issue!

I love this first page. I think the pages are getting stronger with each issue, I don't know if it's my perception or you're getting 'back in the groove'.

I'm glad you chose to do this and to share it with us. IIRC years ago I read an interview where you stated something along the lines of how you loved drawing comics and if you hadn't broken into comics you'd be drawing them for yourself, for your own enjoyment.

I hope I am remembering this correctly, but this feels alot like that; someone very talented who has mastered the craft, making comics solely for themselves.

In some ways, I prefer this to if Marvel had picked up the book.

Thank you for sharing this and I hope the pages sales make up for whatever Marvel would have paid.

I can never get enough Gladiator!  When he is handled properly like I’m sure we will see in the coming weeks....

His design is just phenomenal!

Just so no one gets too disappointed, I should mention that Gladiator’s role in all this is significant, but not large. After all, this story is supposed to be about the X-Men!

Also, his part doesn’t kick in for a while.

---------------------------------------------

OHOTMU Vol 1 has Real Name: Unrevealed. He is referred to as 'Kallark' in Issue #1 of the 3-issue 1997 Imperial Guard Mini Series - but not sure if it was established before then.

Note to self: Really must get out more.
