Only four pages in and this may be one of the best issues I have ever read, of any series, ever. Its brilliant Mr. Byrne. Even if you didn't know what was going on in Elsewhen, you instantly realize the basics, there is an urgent pace, the action is so well depicted. The backgrounds to asteroid M and the control room are fantastic.
Its just...great!

These pages remind me of the inexorable onslaught of the id monster from Forbidden Planet. No matter haw many barriers were placed in its path, the creature could not be stopped!

I'm sure the police and FBI have been out to get Magneto and the M-Men for a while. But I doubt that an enraged Thunder God is quite the "first sign." Hell, I'd run away from Thor in that state, and I never did nothin' wrong!

sense of urgency springs from these panels

Eric - I'm not sure the FBI and the police count as adequate deterrents when you're actively murdering super heroes and/or live on an asteroid. This strikes me as the first time these guys have received actual push-back.

2 quick things:
1. LOVED that "BKOOOM" sound effect! and the curving of it reinforced the sound somehow!
2. When Thor entered the mix, my mind went to him using his little-referenced "dimension-warping" powers to banish the group. The Kurt angle is more diabolical for sure.

Add to the fact that their attack on the Avengers Mansion was more of a "bombing" than a physical confrontation. So far, these guys seem to be bullies.
