Not specifically related, but I found this exchange when directed to Rob Liefeld's twitter page, referencing ELSEWHEN:

It’s a really bummer Byrne didn’t want Marvel to publish it :(

robliefeld@robertliefeld·Oct 3, 2020

Marvel backed out first, unfortunately.

Rob is a good with accuracy as he is with human anatomy, apparently.

Genuine question - does it matter which Magneto might have died?

As 'our' Magneto was the one whose speaking got cut off I'm leaning toward thinking he was the one who got 'THUKed'.

=====================================================

Finally caught up with the first 5 pages only to find out that a "MoM" got "THUKed" and f#$#ed at the same time.

What a week!

I was responding to people's wondering about what we were seeing with which one I read it might've been. With John Byrne comics I definitely enjoy being wrong. Often something better follows which I hadn't thought of or expected at all.

Rebecca, this is the very definition of speculating. Please - just knock it off.

Tim - my apologies, honestly I thought I was going far enough away from speculating - I know I have done it before and figured out I really needed to stop it.  I see the Nightcrawler comment I made was that now ::smacks forehead:: I really need to find ways to avoid it entirely or to just stop commenting.  The advantage of when I don't get a chance to come to the site for a few days.

To move back to being on topic - I have no idea how JB draws Wolverine with the skin/muscle separate from the bones.  It is painful to look at and I couldn't imagine trying to imagine it in my mind long enough to draw it.  How would you even find reference for that?

Something that I don't anyone has mentioned from this page is that it looks like Wolverine's, mentally at least, on the road to recovery.

No reference needed. Just a lifetime inside my head.

(I should note that I am cheating a bit in my portrayal of Logan's boneless arms. The muscles would actually retain some of their shape, albeit becoming "floppy". The arms would not be a blobby as I have been drawing them--but that would not make for much in the way of visual dynamics!)

He's been progressing* but he still has quite a way to go!

* One of the tricker things dealing with the timeframe on ELSEWHEN. As with regular published comics, a month goes by for the readers, while only hours or days go by for the characters. Wolverine's brain got broiled in issue 13, almost ten issues ago. But for him, it certainly hasn't been ten months. Barely ten days, more likely. So I am compelled to play fast and loose with how quickly he's "healing".

I think Wolverine's "floppy" forearms are fine since it seems like Magneto shredded most of the muscle as he ripped out the bones. Not a careful butchering at all... yeesh! Still freaked out from the scene.

(And, whatever the exact healing timeline, I'm just glad it wasn't within a few seconds! Stupid movies... grumble, grumble)
