Yes, things are playing out nicely here. It will be interesting to see how "Jeanix" reacts to the destruction of the family home. I am loving the way this has been set up. JB playing the long game.
Edited to add an omitted word.

Poor ol’ Kurt can’t catch a break, can he? Part of me is expecting to see help from one or more of the NYC-based heroes, another part would rather see Kurt get out of this himself, and the biggest part is telling me to just watch the story unfold and enjoy!
Oh, and enjoy the heck out of JB’s work on Dr. Doom.
I've always loved the way you draw Nightcrawler -- today's last panel is a great example of why.

The trick to drawing Kurt, much like Spider-Man (or any superhero, really) is to always catch him at the most extreme point in his action. A pose he could not possibly hold for more than a fraction of a second, but luckily I'm using a high speed camera!
Reminds me of gymnasts caught in mid-flip, tumble, or leap-- as you say, a millisecond that they can't hold indefinitely but makes for an awesome image. The "most extreme point" is a great way of looking at it!
I love the unique character of Doom's tech noise as opposed to others' like Xavier's or Reed's. Leaving no stone unturned about how singular Doom is as a villain.
