Sliding into the New World now, and finding one adjustment being having to have things—my iPhone, for instance—eighteen inches or so from my eyes in order to see them clearly.

Quite a change after decades of my close-up range being just a few inches beyond the tip of my nose.

If it's not too early yet to know for sure, how will your need for glasses now also change, JB?

My eyes seem to be adjusting almost hour to hour. Over the past two weeks I’ve been experimenting with various old spare glasses. Yesterday a friend gave me a pair of those slightly magnifying readers found in most drugstores. This morning, I’m going without anything.

It’s a fascinating experiment.

That’s the hardest part of my eyes (and me) getting older, finding my focal point…the damn thing keeps moving.

Speaking as someone who's needed glasses since first grade, if you could now in the late of summer of life [delusional well-wishes] not need glasses anymore... c’est merveilleux !
