Glad I got to meet him at a signing a few years ago. What a character!
********************************
Same here. He was doing a special signing at C2E2 for those who paid for the VIP package. I had just gotten the new re-issue of Superman vs Muhammad Ali and brought it with for him to sign. I was extremely fortunate to be first in line (which was by pure chance).
After he signed it for me, he then started to flip through it and start pointing out his favorite parts, telling me why he did certain angles on a particular page. Now I loved it, it was great, but there were dozens of fans waiting their turn for this signing, and it appears I'm taking up their precious time! It was all Neal. I hated having to stop him, but I mentioned there were others waiting and he looked up. Gave me that grin of his and asked me to come back to his table later.
When I did, he sat down and we talked. Just comics. He didn't know me from Adam, but he just wanted to talk comics. His son, Josh, was there as well. He pulled out his father's portfolio to show it off.
Quite possibly the best experience I've ever had at con.
