We had a great Sears in our Hollywood neighborhood, but sometimes we made the trek to the majestic downtown L.A. (really Boyle Heights) store and it really felt special.

That's a great looking building right there Eric!

The Sears I spent most of my working life at was touted as the "world's largest"  when it opened in 1956

The craftsman house next to my Mom's is a Sears Kit House (in a suburb of Cleveland, OH). You ordered it from the catalog and all of the lumber, fixtures, everything, came by train and then brought to the site by truck. The idea was that the home needed to be furnished, so people would then use the catalog to buy all of that stuff too.

I bought a little chunk of the Berlin Wall (allegedly) from Sears. 'Merica!
