His body was incinerated by a cosmic fireball made of Tyros being
consumed by whatever energy Doom used to imbue him with powers again.

"Come on, JB. What were the ideas?"

Scott, you took the burning question words right out of my mouth.

I feel like JB has told us before? Something involving magic, perhaps?

Well, there was a FF storyline that featured Dr. Doom's "son", who turned out to be a clone of the good doctor himself.

Not saying that JB would had went that route......

She-Hulk joined the FF. Spider-Man changed his costume to black.
Iron Man had a new set of armour for about five minutes. Magneto came back good(ish)? Colossus fell in love with Zahji.

I was under the impression that there were supposed to be major changes for every character. Are there other changes I don't remember?

And can anyone tell me if Iron Man actually wore that new armour in his own title at all?

*******
It was basically just new gauntlets and a backpack with wires joining them.
They lasted for a few issues then the gloves became smooth and lost all the
lines. The boots still had them.

Hulk also came back with a broken leg. It healed after a few months.

The black costume and Peter breaking up with Kitty were the longest lasting
changes that were made. Technically, they got rid of the black costume
after about six months but then figured out everyone loved it so they found
a way to bring it back.

Yeah, I forgot about the Hulk's broken leg. Not exactly the biggest development!

Did anything happen with the Avengers?

Kitty and Peter breaking up was probably the longest-lasting effect of SECRET WARS. Nearly 20 years!!!

The Avengers came out of the Secret Wars with no real changes, aside from the Wasp having a new costume (with her, what else is new?) that lasted for all of an issue or two.

Iron Man's new gauntlets and backpack were discarded either in the same issue he got back or the following issue! He left them in a snowbank in upstate New York and went on to get his "smooth gauntlets" (which lacked the repulsors).

The abandoned Battleworld armor parts went on to form a monster which Quasar had to defeat in an early issue of his series.

All in all, fairly regular events for the Avengers!

Oh! Captain America's broken and repaired shield went on to be a storyline in the late 90's! I think that was the last Secret Wars story element to be used.

If I had my druthers, any instance of Captain America's shield being broken, dented, disintegrated or even scratched would disappear from existence.
