Thanks guys, as a society we have to get past feeling different is bad.

Very little that someone else does in their life is going to affect the rest of us, so "live and let live."

Robert, I'm an "old cis white guy" too (in the UK) and I agree with you 100%.

real perspective in uncertain times,

And congratulations to Jenny Blake Isabella - I am so glad

Robert Bardley: "...Very little that someone else does in their life is going to affect the rest of us, so 'live and let live.'"

Oh, if only people would take that to heart. I'm not a religious person, but along with that idiom, I also wish people would practice "Do unto others..." If both of those sayings were put into practice, practically every ill caused by humans would cease to be.

Edited to add: Especially those ills created by those who claim to be religious!

My general philosophy on life is that everyone should have the right to strive for happiness, however they define it, so long as they aren’t hurting themselves or others. And sin is when you treat people like things.

My daughter had this happen at her job. “Joe” left one day and “Ann” came back and sat at the desk (not being dismissive, I honestly don’t remember the names). My daughter congratulated her, and welcomed her into the office. I knew I had raised her right.
