For which I am very grateful. Probably because you're both usually responsible for both the words and the pictures, I always appreciated the balance between the two about which you seemed to be very conscientious.  Much of Frank Miller's work comes off the same.

It’s kind of sad to see Mac and crew leave. Guardian was quickly on his way towards becoming a favorite of mine, joining Reed Richards, Captain America, and Cyclops on my “Mount Rushmore” of team leaders. Oh, what a commission that would have made.

In the Biz, we call that "a clue".

Question for the Master John Byrne:

Did Phoenix (or what we are seeing as Jean possessed by a Phoenix-like entity) create LIFE in reconstructing the Grey's house (in yesterday's page)?

I see that houseplants appear to be restored/recreated.
And we know that the Phoenix entity created a copy of Jean's body in which to inhabit back when first introduced... So I am wondering if that is within the realm of this current character's power.
(of course, they could be fake plants)

Comment for the Master:
Wow!
This is just incredible.
Love how this looks.
Love how this leads in ways totally unexpected.
Love the amazing detail.
Thank you.

I find myself these days thinking of your work more in the family of comic strip talent like Shultz, Trudeau, Breathed, and especially Watterson more than other comic book creators. Probably because of the degree of creative control you have over the material from soup to nuts, and also because we're getting a daily dose of the work, a page at a time.  < id="protanopia"> < id="deuteranopia"> < id="tritanopia">

That's such a great image of Heather and "Shortie".  You can just feel the depth of Logan's affection for her from his reaction.  It's a small moment but a big one in terms of character.

••

You almost did, a few issues back, then the story took a turn of its own, and that moment had to be postponed.
