Legend, icon, and such terms get thrown around easily these days to describe certain people in the entertainment industries, but Neal Adams was definitely a legend, an icon, and an innovator if there ever was one. May he rest in peace.

That Hollywood Reporter obituary was beautiful.
His style is one of my earliest indelible memories of comic books.
RIP.

Very few have made the impact that Mr. Adams did upon comicbooks as an artform and an industry. A clear before and after. And to revisit his work of more than half a century ago is still to be astonished and delighted, in equal measure.

I cannot believe it. The influence of this man on comics has been like the influence of the moon on the seas. The good he did to help Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and to mentor people like Frank Miller was just a side-gig for this man who seemed to electrify every comic book he worked on. I think we'll be sorting out the impact Neal Adams has had on comics for as long as there are comics.
