The first time I went to Heroes Con (in 2000) I was walking near George's table and heard him and two gentlemen singing songs from 'Les Mis.' I naturally wandered over and joined in and now, 24 year later, I'm still good friends with those two guys.

Replace "pencil" with "pen" and I'm with you. Not knocking his pencilling prowess, of course, but I think that he was one of the best and most unique inkers in the business.

The first thing most fans will mention about his work is how much he coulod dram into one illustration.  And yeas, he was phenomenal at that.

I remember seeing his art in 1975 for the first time and how much I loved it then, but he evolved as an artist and his work just got better and better over the years.  Most noticable was his improvement in drawing human anatomy and his ability to give each character a distict look.  You could tell Steve Rogers from Henry Pym from Clint Barton just from their facial features.

But most important was the joy he had doing it, and the wonderful interactions he had with fans.
