As far as cleaning up, as I understand, as a real President should, Biden has already been working on a plan.

Next, Trump in 2024!

Though I strongly suspect he'll either be in a country with no extradition or in jail.

So great to hear an adult give a real Presidential like speech! It's been way too long.

Seriously, it was pretty moving to hear someone speak in such a presidential manner. It's only been four years since we had Obama, but it seems so long to hear someone speak about what they hope to do for the whole country and not just about themselves... and with some coherency.
Joe seems like the right president for now.

I'm not Biden's biggest fan but he gave the right speech for the moment. Hopeful, inspiring, but also firm. And he barely mentioned the orange buffoon in the room.
When they cut to Anderson Copper and the rest of the panel in CNN he made a good observation: when Biden said he was the most voted presidential candidate in American history, he just said it and then moved on.
He didn't gloat. No "it is truly amazing, the best campaign ever, the most votes, everybody's talking about it". It felt odd, you expect that at this point after 4 years of Trump. Nice change of pace.

I said this last night during my weekly Zoom call with some JBF buddies. I've been saying this, really, ever since he got the nomination. I was a Warren guy, but Biden does really seem to be the exact right President for this moment. He's uniquely qualified to handle the shitshow that Trump leaves him while also tamping down the temperature of the country.
I don't believe in fate. I don't think that some higher being has a hand in choosing a leader. I do, however, believe that Americans have the uncanny ability to elect leaders suited to meet the challenges before them when the moment demands it of them. Lincoln, FDR, Kennedy, Obama. Just to name a few. Each faced a period of crises wherein they were able to rise to the challenge. Yes, sadly, we also elected Trump. But I think that decision will go down as a double flushed turd rather than indicative of our history as a whole.
It's a great day to be an American while also realizing there's a ton of work left to be done.

Congratulations and many thanks! I'm currently having fun reading tweets from far-right populists in the opposition parties over here whingeing about America's choice of a "leftist" President (they haven't gone so far as to label him a Communist, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time!)
I watched the speeches given by Harris and Biden live on CNN. Good stuff.
I was wondering if a single term in office will be enough to fix the mess that other guy made. We'll see.
