Wow, that's a stunning piece ... and somehow more florid than JB's normal style.  I like it.

Great work this week JB!

Very Cool!

I just put my finger on what I think looks different about this one. It's pure Byrne! Sometimes I look at the commissions and think, "I see a little Kubert influence in this one." (Or Kirby, or whoever).

In this one I see only "Byrne".

Dear John, this one looks a bit like the 80's stuff many of us love sooo much.

I'll be glad to see more pieces looking like this one.

Your recent stuff is great, but I'm sure a bit of the old flavor, like this one proves, would be a successful addition.

This would be a commission I'd like - love your Sonja.  Amazing work, sir!

John, it is evident from this sample alone that your would own sword and sorcery if you went for it.

There's a certain tongue-in-cheek humor to the genre which most fans seems to miss and which you have captured perfectly: Sonja smiling at us almost coyly while dangling a human head.

Heh.

He'd be the next John Buscema of the genre.

Do you have any 'Sword and Sorcery' stories in you? Any interest in working in the genre at all?

No response. Have you done a Conan piece before? If not, I do hope one of the members asks for one, or Dark Horse ask for a cover. I'd like to see your Conan. I remember something in Savage Sword, but I think it was a Sonja, and a Solomon Kane.

Thoughts on Hilary Swank being cast as Sonja, the softness differences not withstanding. Who is your casting choice for a real Sonja?

Me likee!

Seriously, I love the way JB renders his beasties (Savage Land comes to mind).  I'd LOVE a series with Red Sonja and/or Conan.

Speaking of which, we know your feelings toward current management at DC and Marvel, Mr. Byrne; but are there any chances you might do some work for Dark Horse?

I like that you drew her without her chest being the focus of attention.  Very nice piece.
