This is incredible. Take out all the characters in the piece, and you'd still have a work I'd be happy to hang on my wall.

Perfection.

WOW. Again, JB, you've left me in awe of your ability to layout a piece of artwork and with such amazing detail. Add in Danny Rand and I'm gonna be glued to this image for a long time!!! (Congrats to the owner!) Takes me back to your run on IRON FIST watching you learn and grow as an artist. Great stuff!!

Probably the best background work I've seen from JB, and he's done a lot of impressive ones!

This to me is perfection - from the layout, dynamics, figures, pose, backgrounds, inking - the commissioner will be more than happy and this will easily exceed any expectations he (or she) has.

JB, can you take me/us through your process for ruling out the curvilinear perspective in the background?

If you say that you eyeballed it, I'd like to borrow those glasses sometime please.

Yup, eyeballed. Picked a vanishing point off in the depths of the tunnel, then used my arm as a compass, rotating on the elbow. Trick I learned in high school drafting class.

Just got around to gazing at the larger, more detailed scan that was added to the gallery.... DAMN I love to see another IRON FIST run by JB.

Back to reality.... I'll settle for these beautiful commissions.

Hi John,

I'm the happy commissioner of this Iron Fist art and I'd like to personally thank you for your incredible work.
I read IRON FIST #8 (oct 1976) "Like tigers in the night" at 9 years old about  25 years ago and this comic book had great effect on my childhood memory. The story was edited in France and as a child reader I was impressed by how you staged the fighting scene in the subway, the Iron Fist's Kung Fu movements were so fluid and well coordinated. It's a real challenge to draw a fighting scene. It's very emotional for me to have such a terrific Iron Fist art from the comic artist who marked my childhood reading. Thank you again.
