I love this commission. There is so much to see that I could be days talking about it. Just some questions for John Byrne about the Nightcrawler teleportation effect. As you've drawn it, it seems to me I can hear the short and strong BAMF (no need any sound effect). How did you arrive to it? It's been a natural thing or did you have to make many thoughts to obtain it? I mean, Do you have any own rules or follow some sequence for drawing it?

JB-If Kitty could take Juggernaut out would I be wrong to assume the Vision would be able to as well?

Not sure. The Vision's powers don't quite work the same as Mz Kitty's.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm just drawing what Dave drew.

Thank you, John. I'll do a little search following that track.

Amazing in all the ways mentioned.

Big fan of Cyclops. Never gets tired seeing him in that pose.

Congrats to the commissioner.

That leg just anchors the whole thing, doesn't it?
Bravo.

I like the big leg. That leg, with Nightcrawler in front, is probably my favourite bit.

There is a lot of fun in the size of the Sentinels and the big boot dwarfing Nightcrawling really brings home the bacon. Love that BAMF explosion as well. Excellent rendition of both that and Nightcrawler.

Amazing!  I love this piece.  So many good things.  Highlight is seeing Colossus & Cyclops in action. I missed Havok the first few looks.  Great work JB.

A 6 issue mini series cross over event in one fantastic image. I agree with the comments from Joe Smith and Peter Martin that the placement of foot/lower leg of the Sentinel makes a real difference. It seems to add a great deal of depth to the scene. An outstanding commission.

As has already been well said - truly outstanding ...

Curious, though - The Vision's powers don't quite work the same as Mz Kitty's. Without wanting to seem too fanboy-ish ( god forbid ), what's your view of the difference, JB ?

According to OHOTMU, the unique nature of the Vision's cellular structure allows him to "interface" with other dimensions, one manifestation of which is that he can walk thru walls, like a ghost.*

Kitty, on the other hand (when her power is properly portrayed) dampens the attraction between her own atoms/molecules and those around her, allowing them to pass thru each other, more of less like passing the fingers of one hand between the fingers of the other.

So much so, that in the OHOTMU style bios of Marvel staffer's, Elliot Brown parodied Mark's obsession by noting that he, Elliot, was not in fact going bald, but that his hair was being translated into a parallel "hair dimension."
